Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a precursor which facilitates controlled layout at an implant part and directly solidifies to form a microporous implant by forming an implant precursor for transplantation from a mixture of a biocompatible, biodegradable, water-solidifiable thermoplastic polymer and a water-soluble organic solvent.
CONSTITUTION: An implant precursor for transplantation is formed by a mixture of a biocompatible, biodegradable, water-solidifiable thermoplastic polymer, which comprises a double structure formed by an outside sacciform material and liquid contents, and a pharmacologically permissible water-soluble organic solvent. Portions 1, 2 of an implant precursor forming device contain porous, hydrophilic plastic sheets 6, 7, and a container is opened to impart pores to the porous hydrophilic sheets 6, 7 using an aqueous medium. A polymer solution is applied on the porous hydrophilic plastic sheet 7 in the lower half of the container and the container is closed. The spacers 8, 9 define a space held during the solidifying process of the polymer solution and regulate the thickness of the implant precursor.
