Abstract:

To provide a method for producing biodegradable monofilament of high tensile strength, and to provide the biodegradable monofilament obtained by the method.

The method for producing the biodegradable monofilament comprises the following process: A copolymer with lactic acid and -caprolactone as a recurring unit is melt-spun into monofilament, which is preheated and then drawn under laser irradiation. The biodegradable monofilament obtained by the method is provided.
