Abstract:
To provide a biodevice which is manufactured by employing a technique for arbitrarily controlling growth of a bimolecular lipid membrane on a substrate, a technique for controlling movement of molecules and particles embedded in the bimolecular lipid membrane, or both of these techniques.
A biodevice of the present invention includes: a substrate; a hydrophilic portion for self-spreading of a bimolecular lipid membrane, which is provided on a surface of the substrate; a first nano-gap electrode provided in the hydrophilic portion; and a second nano-gap electrode which faces the first nano-gap electrode, has a nano-gap having such a width as to allow the bimolecular lipid membrane to pass through, and is provided in the hydrophilic portion.
