To provide a biogas-producing technique which simplifies the pretreatment of a raw material, can efficiently produce a biogas at low cost using a fermentable microorganism even in a small-scaled system and reduces the load against an environment.
This biogas-producing method using garbage as the raw material includes: the electrolytic treatment process of immersing garbage in the cathodic cell of an electrolytic treatment cell filled with an electrolyte solution and subsequently applying voltage to the electrolyte solution not only to perform the sterilization treatment of the garbage but also to elute a fermentation substrate into the electrolyte solution from the garbage; the process of mixing the electrolyte solution in the cathode tank and the electrolyte solution in an anodic cell after the completion of the electrolytic treatment process; and the fermentation process of adding the fermentable microorganism to the mixed electrolyte solution to produce the biogas.
