Abstract:
PURPOSE: To efficiently remove NH4-N in waste water containing NH4-N in high concn. and also containing org. matter obstructing nitration reaction.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of reactors 1, 21 having fluidized beds are arranged in series. The first reactor 1 is packed with a fluidized bed 2 composed of activated carbon 3 and the succeeding reactor 21 is packed with a fluidized bed 22 composed of an ion exchanger 23. The fluidized beds 2, 22 are seeded with a bacteria mixed soln. containing nitrifying bacteria. Thereafter, waste water containing an org. substance and ammoniac nitrogen is circulated to the respective reactors 1, 21 to be nitrated under an aerobic condition in both reactors.
