Title:
BIOTISSUE STAINING AGENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000103981
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a biotissue staining agent capable of staining a biotissue through zinc and cadmium to enable sensitive and specific discrimination by including a specific quinolylformazan derivative.

The objective staining agent contains a 2quinolylformazan derivative of the formula R1 is H or a condensed polycyclic aromatic group; R2 is H, sulfonic acid group, carboxylic acid group or hydroxyl group). The derivative of the formula can be produced e.g. by reacting 2-chloroquinoline with hydrazine to obtain 2-quinolylhydrazine, reacting the product with a condensed polycyclic aromatic aldehyde (e.g. naphthalaldehyde and phenanthraldehyde) in an organic solvent and reacting the reaction product with a phenyldiazonium salt. Zinc and cadmium in a biotissue can be specifically detected and discriminated by the color to enable the determination of the distribution of zinc and cadmium in the biotissue.
