Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound having excellent electron transporting properties especially in a low electric field and providing an electrophotographic receptor with high sensitivity as an electron transporting agent due to excellent solubility in a solvent, compatibility with a binder resin and matching with an electric charge generating agent.

CONSTITUTION: This compound is shown by formula I (R1 is an alkyl; (m) is 0-3; (n) is 0-2). The compound, for example, is obtained by esterifying a benzoic acid derivative of formula II such as p-t-butylbenzonc acid, reacting the esterified substance with hydrazine to give a benzhydrazide derivative of formula III such as p-t-butylbenzhydrazide, reacting the derivative with a dioxodiimidazopyrazine derivative of formula IV (X is a halogen) and reacting the reaction product in a solvent such as phosphoryl chloride in an inert gas atmosphere at 25-130°C for 30 minutes to 24 hours to carry out ring closure reaction by intramolecular condensation.
