PURPOSE: To prevent a burr phenomenon of an edge part, and to exactly clean a rotary body, by placing the edge part of an elastic member press-contacting with the rotary body in the lengthwise direction, in the opposite direction against the rotating direction.

CONSTITUTION: When a photosensitive drum 16 rotates in the direction as indicated with an arrow (v), the drum 16 to which a residual toner is adhering reaches a blade cleaning device 17. An edge part 17c of an elastic member 17b is made to press-contact with the drum 16 so as to be in the opposite direction against the rotating direction, therefore, in the edge part 17c, not only friction force F but also reaction T are generated, and it is deformed so as to be drawn into the direction as indicated with an arrow by its resultant force P. The elastic member 17b is thin and contacts flatly with a supporting member 17a, therefore, a burr phenomenon is prevented, and the surface of the rotary body 16 is cleaned exactly.
