Abstract:
To provide an apparatus and a method for heat treatment of a blade edge of a band saw capable of stably performing heat treatment of the blade edge of the band saw.SOLUTION: The apparatus for heat treatment of a blade edge of a band saw includes a machine frame 11 for supporting a member, band saw traveling means 12 such as an electric motor for driving the band saw, a heating burner 13 for heating the blade edge of the traveling band saw, a cooling holding body 14 for cooling the band saw heated by the heating burner 13, and a band saw supporting member 15 for determining the vertical position of the band saw by abutting on the lower surface of the traveling band saw. A recessed portion 14h is provided at the vicinity just below a cooling water discharge port 14i of the cooling holding body 14. The cooling water discharged from the discharge port 14i is accumulated in the recessed portion 14h to cool the entire band saw traveling through the recessed portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
