To reduce the amount of used materials, reduce cost, and reduce the amount of used paper resources.
A blank 1 includes a top wall panel 2, and a pair of side wall panels 3 and 4. The top wall panel and the pair of side wall panels are integrally connected to each other via folding lines 6 and 7 for separating the top wall panel and the side wall panels from each other. An opening 20 for inserting a projecting portion of a can body is formed in the top wall panel. A pair of slits 5 are formed in both sides of the opening. The slits and the folding lines are juxtaposed serially in one direction. The slits are configured so that a latch portion 50, for latching a seaming portion of the can body, is formed at the part of the slits when the blank is folded at the folding lines.
