Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a low Si pig iron under stable furnace condition by adjusting quantities of liquid fuel and fine powdered coal at the time of blowing slurry with the liquid fuel containing iron oxide and the fine powdered coal from tuyere in a blast furnace.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of producing the pig iron for steel making raw material in the blast furnace, the low Si pig iron is produced in order to make low load of desiliconizing refining. For this purpose, the iron oxide powder of converter dust, mill scale, etc., is blown from the tuyere in the blast furnace under condition of the slurry state with tar, heavy oil, waste oil, etc., and also the solid fuel of the fine powdered coal, etc., is blown. In this case, coke conversion ratio for the liquid fuel is made to 0.9W1.2 and for the fine powdered coal is made to 0.8W1.1 and coke ratio in the blast furnace together with lump coke from the furnace top is held to about 100kg/ton of tapped molten pig iron to prevent raising of Si content caused by high temp. of tapped molten pig iron and to prevent lowering of the furnace temp. in the blast furnace caused by low temp. of the molten pig iron, and the low Si pig iron is produced under stable operating condition.
