To obtain long-chain alkanoyloxybenzene type bleach-activating agent granules improved in solubility and storage stability by granulating a long-chain alkanoyloxybenzene type bleach-activating agent in the presence of an amino acid using a water-soluble binder.

The bleach-activating agent granules are granules which comprise (a) 50 to 80wt.% bleach-activating agent denoted by formula I or II, (b) 2 to 15wt.% α-amino acid or its salt, and (c) 10 to 40wt.% water-soluble binder and wherein the components (a) and (b) are granulated by using the component (c). In the formulae, R1 denotes a 10-15C alkyl or alkenyl; R2 denotes a 7-13C alkyl or alkenyl; M denotes H or a cation that renders the bleach-activating agent water-soluble. The granules can be used as an activating agent for peroxide bleaching agents, such as percabonates, and can be widely used in the application wherein the percarbonate bleaching agents including, for example, bleaching agents for clothing, bleaching agents for dwelling houses, and bleaching agents for pulp, can be used.
