PURPOSE: To eliminate danger of hemolysis and improve plasma-collecting efficiency by providing a pump for both blood-collecting and blood returning between lines connected to a plasma separator and a blood storage part.
CONSTITUTION: A concentrated blood from which a part of blood plasma is collected is returned to a blood donor through a line 19. At that time, a part of this blood is sent again to a blood storage part 14 through a line 20. Then, a pump 13 for both blood-collecting and blood-returning is positively rotated to send fresh air from the blood donor to the blood storage part 14, and when the blood stored in the blood storage part 14 is made into a fixed quantity, the pump 13 for both blood-collecting and blood-returning is reversely rotated to send a mixed blood of the concentrated blood and the blood to a plasma separator 16. As only a negligible part of the concentrated blood is recirculated, the concentrated blood never have such an excessive hemocyte component as in conventional device, and unpreferable states such as hemolysis by damage of the hemolyzed component are hardly caused.
