To provide a blood separator which has a fourth flexible container storing a blood preservation solution and loaded in an accommodating part, delivers the blood preservation solution to a first container or a main bag by pressing the fourth container between a compression delivery means and a lid member, and facilitates work of sucking and storing a red blood cell layer mixed with the blood preservation solution in the fourth container from the first container, and a blood separating method.
The blood separator has the flexible fourth container which stores the blood preservation solution and is loaded on a second accommodating part with a pressing plate 110 for a second compression delivery means and a second lid member 104, and is used to suck the red blood cell layer mixed with the blood preservation solution in the fourth container from the first container by delivering the blood preservation solution by compression through pressing the fourth container, store the red blood cell layer, and remove the container. The blood separator is equipped with an airtight box 70 vacuumed for the suction and a second lid driving device for respectively driving the second lid member 104 to an opened position for suspending the fourth container on a hook 207 and to an airtight position for vacuuming the airtight box 70.
