PURPOSE: To obtain a blood viscosity lowering agent useful for treating thrombosis, containing at least one of cordalin, tetrahydropalmatine, graucin and protopine as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: At least one of cordalin, tetrahydropalmatine, graucin and protopine, components of Corydalis Tubes of crude drug, tuber of plant of the genus Corydalis of the family Papaveraceae is used as a active ingredient and pharmaceutically manufactured as it is or blended with a conventional drug carrier and pharmaceutically manufactured by a conventional procedure to give the aimed substance. The substance can be prepared into an oral drug such as tablet, capsule, granule, fine granule or powder or parenteral drug such as injection or suppository. A dose is 30W400mg per adult daily in the case of oral administration and properly 5W45mg in the case of parenteral administration. The components such as cordalin, etc., are obtained by extracting Corydalis Tuber with a solvent such as water or methanol to give an extracted solution, concentrating, drying, separating and purifying.
