To provide a charcoal/gypsum board which is excellent in fire resistance and fire proofing property, humidity controllability, deodorizing property, heat retainability, electromagnetic wave shielding property, mildewproofing property, and antibacterial property, without decreasing the strength and rigidity of the gypsum board, and a method for manufacturing the same.

A charcoal/gypsum board is provided which contains 20 to 60 parts by weight of charcoal powders for 100 parts by weight of gypsum, the charcoal powders having a carbonization temperature of 800°C or higher. A method for manufacturing the charcoal/gypsum board includes adding 20 to 60 parts by weight of charcoal powders with a carbonization temperature of 800°C or higher to 100 parts by weight of hemihydrate gypsum, adding water to the mixture by not less than 50 parts to not more than 90 parts by weight for 100 parts by weight of the hemihydrate gypsum, kneading them together, molding the mixture into a plate shape, coagulate and setting it. Thereafter, it is dried in a temperature range of 100 to 200°C for 20 to 40 minutes and then in a temperature range of 40 to 80°C for one hour or more.
