Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effectively intercept the vibration from an engine or the like transmitted to a residential area on a ship, by inserting balls or circular columns on a holizontal crossection of a vertically disposed board, and intercepting the transmission of a rotation and a displacement caused by the outer surface vibration on the board.

CONSTITUTION: The vibration caused by an engine 1 is transmitted through a outer wall board to a wall of a residential area 2, and the wall vibration causes a noise in a room. A vibration cut-off equipment prevrents the noise thereof and is provided with supporting members 5, 5 disposed in between outer wall boards 4, 4. The supporting members are disposed against each other with a suitable gap. Balls or columns lie between the members and are prevented to fall off by flanges 9. Elastic beams 7 and 7' are attatched to both side of the member 5 and 5 in order to precent the board 4 and 4 to be vertically detatched. The rubber and the like protection cover 8 is attatched on a side (sea side) of the members 5 and 5 in such a manner that the equipment is protected from the sea water.
