Title:
BOILING METER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03137549
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect a liquid level accurately by a method wherein the liquid level in a fractionating vessel of a boiling meter is detected continuously by an LED array and a CCD image sensor while a zero point and a span are adjusted precisely by a bypass pipe provided for the fractionating vessel.

CONSTITUTION: A liquid level detecting tube 14 of a fractionating vessel 13 is provided with a device 19 for continuous detection of a liquid level and also a sample introduction tube 3 is provided with a three-way solenoid operated valve 20, to which a bypass 21 is connected. The detecting device 19 is formed by disposing an LED array 19b and a CCD image sensor 19 oppositely. When a distillation point is measured, first a sample in a metering cup 4 is put in the fractionating vessel 13 through the bypass 21 and then discharged therefrom. The position of a residual on the occasion is set to be a zero level. When the sample in the cup 4 is put in the fractionating vessel 13 again subsequently, the level thereof is set to a 100% distillation point. By this method, a zero point and a span are controlled simply and precisely and also measurement of levels is conducted highly precisely and continuously.
