Title:
BONDED FIBROUS CASING SUBSTRATE AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME AND CASING REINFORCED WITH THE SUBSTRATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3324155
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a sheet material which has a reinforced elasticity and a reinforced breaking strength and is useful for food casings for sausages and the like, by compressing a sheet material comprising fibers and then mutually bonding the fibers with an adhesive to impart a specific elasticity to the obtained sheet material.
CONSTITUTION: This porous fibrous sheet material for use in the manufacture of food casings and the like is obtained by compressing a sheet material comprising fibers to form the bonded sheet material which has a thickness not exceeding 135% based on the thickness of a porous fiber sheet material bonded with the same weight of viscose per unit area, and then bonding the compressed sheet material with ≤10 wt.% of a non-viscose adhesive (giving a lower contraction rate than that using the viscose adhesive) which comprises (A) a film-forming agent such as polyvinyl alcohol or sodium alginate and (B) a cross-link-forming agent such as glyoxylated polyacrylamide or the reaction product of epichlorohydrin with a polyamide. The obtained sheet material has an elasticity of ≥90%, preferably ≥95%, based on that of a sheet material using a viscose adhesive, and a thickness of 55-150 μm (not exceeding 120% based on that of the sheet material using the viscose adhesive).
