To provide a method of bonding glass cloth capable of limiting the thickness of a bonded part to 1.5 times or lower that of the ground glass cloths, affording sufficient bonded strength, and enabling e.g. varnish coating operation without the need of spreading a squeeze roll even at the bonded part.
The wefts at the respective ends of both glass cloths 1 to be bonded to each other are pulled out over the whole width so as to leave warps alone, both the ends are then superposed on each other, and thermoplastic resin films 2 and reinforcing thin glass cloths 3 are then put successively on both sides of the superposed part, respectively, followed by heating both the resin film 2 and thin glass cloths 3 to the melting point of the resin film and then conducting a contact bonding.
