Abstract:
To provide a technique related to a method and a structure for bonding metal together according to rotary friction welding, in particular to a method and a structure for bonding that are used in bonding new steel structures and in repairing existing steel structures.SOLUTION: A bonding method for metal includes the steps of: oppositely arranging a rear surface 12 of a first metal 10 and a surface 21 of a second metal 20; forming an open hole 14 as a void space 50 in the first metal 10, in a rotationally symmetrical shape using as its rotary axis 71 a straight line piercing through the rear surface 12 of the first metal 10 and the surface 21 of the second metal 20; inserting a bonding metal 40 to the void space 50; rotating the bonding metal 40 about the rotary axis 71 to generate friction, in a state that pressing force p is applied to a contact part 60 of a tip part 47 of the bonding metal 40 and the surface 21 of the second metal 20 at a bottom part 51 in the void space 50; and melting the vicinity of the contact part 60 to produce molten metal 80 to fill a gap 65, thereby bonding the first metal 10 to the second metal 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
