PURPOSE: To provide a book cover which prevents a book from being read standing with no intention to purchase it and can be used as a book cover continuously even after the purchase of a book with high advertising effect and effective natural resource utilization.

CONSTITUTION: A pouchy part 4 in which one side(11) of the front cover of a book is provided on one(2) of a right and a left marginal part 2, 3 of a sheet of rectangular shape, and a flap 5 which is folded from front to rear to be engaged with the other side of the front, is provided on the other side(3) of the marginal part. In the cover 1 of transparent resin for a book constituted as described above, a band 6 to be inserted into the other side of the front cover is provided on the rear of the cover 1. Further, an adhesive part 7 to be pasted on the band 6 is provided on the rear surface of the flap 5, and at least, the width X of the adhesive part 7 is smaller than the width Y of the band 6, and the width Z of the flap 5 is larger than the thickness of the book.
