Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a book management system capable of preventing the increment of the CPU load of a computer in an own library owing to the processing of other libraries even when the number of libraries is increased and suppressing remarkable increment in the number of lines.
CONSTITUTION: Overall library user databases 4a, to 4d record data relating to users in all libraries A to D. Each of own library book reservation/lending databases 2a to 2d records data relating to the reservation/lending of books in the self-library. Each of the other library book reservation/lending databases 3a to 3d records data relating to the reservation/loan of books necessary for the processing of the own library out of books stored in the other libraries. A line exchange 6 mutually connects computers 1a to 1d installed in all the libraries A to D through network channels 5a1, 5a2 to 5d1, 5d2.
