A book paper contains a pulp, a yellow coloring agent and a nitrate, and a content of the yellow coloring agent of the book paper is 0.005 to 0.100 mass% based on a basis weight of the paper and the content of the nitrate of the book paper is 700 to 4,000 mass% in terms of nitrate ions based on the content of the yellow coloring agent.
