Abstract:
To properly shape a booklet by case binding even when the number of sheets in a paper bundle is low.SOLUTION: A bookbinding device includes: an adhesive applying unit 45 for applying an adhesive on a back face and a part of a side surface of a paper bundle PS composed of a plurality of text sheets; a paper bundle thickness sensor 79 for acquiring a thickness of the paper bundle PS; a center folding roller 99 which rotates while sandwiching the paper bundle and a cover sheet so as to wrap the back face and the side surface of the paper bundle to which adhesive has been applied by the adhesive applying unit 45 with the cover sheet; and a bookbinding control unit 50 for rotating the center folding roller 99 so as to sandwich the paper bundle and the cover sheet when the thickness acquired by the paper bundle thickness sensor 79 is less than a prescribed threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
