Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a warm-up time to an adhesive application part.SOLUTION: A bookbinding system 1 binds a book by adhering a cover sheet P2 to a text sheet bundle PS in which text sheets P are bundled for one book, with a hot melt adhesive G, and produces a book by case binding. The bookbinding system comprises: an adhesive application part 40; a control part (73); and a booklet molding part 65. The control part (73) calculates thickness of the text sheet bundle PS for one book, determines an adhesive use amount required for applying the adhesive to a back part PSa of the text sheet bundle PS for one book, according to thickness of the text sheet bundle PS, then, determines a warm-up time (T2) to the adhesive application part 40 required for melting the hot melt adhesive G by the adhesive use amount, then melts the hot melt adhesive G by the adhesive use amount during the determined warm-up time to the adhesive application part, then starts application of the hot melt adhesive Ga which is adhered to an outer peripheral face 42c of an adhesive application roller 42 in a molten state, to the back part PSa of the text sheet bundle PS which is bound initially.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
