Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a punching device, which is made perfect by providing flexibility for a well known punching device, by installing an optical reflecting/ focusing device deflecting and focusing laser beams toward a prescribed point on the surface of an object on a cigarette. CONSTITUTION: Cigarettes 3 are supplied horizontally across a punching circular arc and rotated at a fixed speed to perfectly rotate a fixed number of times around each axis lines. In the middle of punching the cigarettes 3 by the laser beams 8, a movable unit 22 is rotated around the axial line 9 at a speed higher than that of a conveyer drum 5 in the same direction as the drum. This rotational speed is increased in proportion to the number of holes requested for each cigarette 3. Whenever the unit 22 is rotated once around the axis line at the time of the operation, one hole 2 is punched at each cigarette 3 on a punching internal arc to punch a prescribed number of ring-formed holes 2 at regular intervals around a filter 24.
