PURPOSE: To improve bottle inspecting speed by circulatingly moving plural bottle inspecting machines through linear motor means, and detecting the position of a bottle by a position detecting linear encoder to intermittently stop the bottle at a inspecting position for its inspection.
CONSTITUTION: Movers 20a, 20b of linear motors for driving a bottle inspecting machine and stators 30a, 30b of the linear motors circulatingly move each of the bottle inspecting machines 5a-5n between a return passage 8 and inspecting positions A-G, and a position detecting linear encoder 50 intermittently stops the machines 5a-5n at each of the inspecting positions A-G respectively. On the other hand, the bottle 2a at an inlet is transferred to the bottle inspecting machine having circulated to the inlet, for instance supporting rollers 71a, 71c of the machine 5a by a conical screw feeder 3 on an inlet side, and moved to each of the inspecting positions A-G for inspection. After the inspection at the inspecting position G, the bottle 2a is transferred to an conical screw feeder 6. The above formation can thus improve the inspecting speed of the bottle.
