In the bottom structure, an end part of a refractory block row composing a bottom section of the electric ash melting furnace is held down by a lower end of a side wall 15 of a furnace body 10. It is characterized by that a groove 17 is formed in a side face longitudinal direction of a refractory block adjacent to a longitudinal direction of the refractory block 14, and the refractory blocks are mutually coupled by fitting a plug brick 19 as tightly as possible in a plug brick inserting space 18 formed by incorporation of the groove 17 of the adjacent refractory block.
