Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a boundary layer control device for the rotor blade of a rotary-wing aircraft, which can suck in a boundary layer at the wing surface of the rotor blade with neither pressurizing nor decompressing means required or without impairing the power of a propulsive engine, and also can blow air off out of the tip end of the rotor blade.
CONSTITUTION: Air passages 5 are provided for the inside of a rotor blade 3 along the longer direction as far as the end section of the rotor blade 3, a plural number of small holes 6 communicated with the air passages 5 are arranged over the upper surface or the upper and lower surfaces of the rotor blade 3 so as to be bored, and concurrently a blow-off means 4 which is continuous to the air passages 5, and is provided with slits 8 directed to the direction opposite to the rotating direction of the rotor blade 3, is provided for the end section of the rotor blade 3, and air is so constituted as to be sucked in through the small holes 6 so as to be blown off out of the blow-off means A at the end section of the rotor blade 3 through the air passages 5.
