Abstract:
To provide a box opening device and a box opening method capable of performing cutting appropriately for opening even if one surface of a box is curved.SOLUTION: A box opening device 11 includes: a robot 40 for moving a cutter 45 relative to a box 12; a control unit for controlling the robot 40; and a 3D camera 50 for measuring from front, reflected light from an opening surface 13 of the box 12 to acquire three-dimensional data that represents in three-dimensional coordinates a group of points on a surface including the opening surface 13. The control unit includes a position control data generation unit and a cutting control unit. The position control data generation unit generates position control data that represents a cutting path of the cutter 45 with three-dimensional coordinate values based on the three-dimensional data. The cutting control unit controls the robot 40 based on the position control data, and moves the cutter 45 relatively to the box 12 along the cutting path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
