PURPOSE: To avoid noise caused by backlash of gears and to enable high-speed drive of a braider by driving an impeller, traveling a bobbin carrier along a truck, through a friction roller.

CONSTITUTION: In driving an impeller d3 for traveling a bobbin carrier in a braider for braid along a truck bored through a curved rising plate U, the impeller d3 is engaged through a bearing fs with a hollow bolt f3, a projected part d4, of a disklike friction roller d4 made of urethane rubber is engaged with a key groove d3''' bored through the outer peripheral face of the impeller d3 and the roller d4 is forced upward through a compression spring d5 to a space between the under surface of the roller d4 and a collar part d3' of the impeller d3. Further, the sliding friction rollers d and disklike friction rollers d1' made of iron or a rigid synthetic resin are alternately arranged, the rollers d1' are driven and rotated by a driving means such as a motor, and the rollers d4 to be brought into contact with the disklike friction rollers by friction are slid and driven to drive the impeller d3.
