PURPOSE: To prevent a cross-sectional shape from being lost in pulling and smoothly pull a braid by bringing a hollow braid into mutual pressure contact, nipping the hollow braid along the cross-sectional shape thereof and shaping the braid.

CONSTITUTION: This braider is obtained by transferring a braid of an I-shaped cross section plaited in a braider body through a guide member inserted into a hollow part of the braid (b) to a shaping device (H) interposingly installed between the braider body and a pulling device, pressing and nipping the inner vertical walls (b1) and (b1') of the I-shaped cross section and inner horizontal walls (b2) and (b2') thereof with a pair of rollers (h1) and (h1') urged with a coil spring (h12) and pressing outer horizontal walls (b3) and (b3') with a pair of rollers (h13) and (h13') from the vertical directions. Thereby, the yarns constituting the braid (b) are shaped into a closely and tightly assembled state.
