PURPOSE: To change a place of a mandrel smoothly, by spreading yarns heading to a braiding point through a yarn dividing unit in adjusting the mandrel position.

CONSTITUTION: In a braider, while stopping a movement of a bobbin carrier C once and rotating or tilting a mandrel m by a specific amount, a position of the mandrel m is adjusted after spreading yarns Y distributed to a braiding point, by advancing and spreading a yarn dividing part of a yarn dividing unit S which is set aside in a rear position. After changing position of the mandrel m, driving of the braider part Bb is restarted, and at the same time the yarn dividing part is receded backward with closing as well as drawing the spread yarns Y.
