Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the brake device of a loom heddle frame not causing the falling or runaway of the heddle frame, even on the shutdown of powder supply, the failure of the power supply or the trouble of an electric system.
SOLUTION: A guide 23 having a brake shoe 30 is disposed at a place brought into pressure contact with the side stay of a loom heddle frame. The brake shoe 30 is usually placed apart from the side stay 26 by applying an electric current to an exciting coil 28 disposed in the guide 23. When a power source is broken down or failed, an electric current flowing in the exciting coil 28 is interrupted, and the brake shoe 30 is brought into pressure contact with the side stay 26 by the energizing force of a plate spring 29. Further, the driving of the heddle frame 21 is immediately stopped to prevent the runaway of the heddle frame 21.
