Abstract:
A brake device (11) is provided with a ball nut (35) which is rotationally driven by an electric motor (43), a ball screw (37) which is moved axially by the rotational drive force of the ball nut (35), a drive direction conversion mechanism (39) which converts the axial movement force of the ball screw (37) into a drive force in a direction in which the base ends (45) of a pair of brake arms (19) rock open, a pair of pad assemblies (25) which are provided at the open ends of the brake arms (19), and a brake rotor which is gripped and pressed from both sides by the pair of pad assemblies (25).
