Title:
BRAKE SHOE FOR BICYCLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59219533
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reliably improve the braking function as a whole by providing several cut lines on a shoe proper in the direction at a right angle to the length direction along the rim proceeding direction and to a predetermined depth from the braking surface against the rim. CONSTITUTION:A brake shoe is constituted by fitting a holder 2 supporting a shoe proper 1 to a pair of arms A of a caliper brake respectively, and the braking surface 3 of the shoe proper 1 is squeezed to both sides of a rim R of a wheel by pulling an operating wire W provided on the upper end of the arm A. A proper number of cut lins 5 are provided on the shoe proper in the direction at a right angle to the length direction along the preceeding direction of the rim R and to a predetermined depth from the braking surface 3 against the rim R to form a proper number of shoe pieces 11-16. Thereby, individual shoe pieces 11-16 are flexed during braking, and a large edge braking function can be attained as a whole.
