Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake and a steering system at least safe against a failure for a vehicle having no consistent mechanical connection between a steering wheel and wheels and having no consistent mechanical or hydraulic connection between a brake pedal and a vehicle normal brake.
SOLUTION: A calculating device at least obtains the target braking action for each wheel and the target steering action for each wheel having a steering function based on sensor signals. The braking function and steering function for each wheel are adjusted or controlled by an adjusting system based on the obtained target braking action and target steering action. The adjusting system contains a normal brake 12 for the braking function and additionally contains steering regulators 15, 16 for the steering function. A failure allowing communication device 2 connects the adjusting system to the calculating device. Energy feeding devices 1, 8 to the calculating device and the adjusting system allow failures.
