Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent kick-back pressure from acting on a master cylinder by arranging a control valve and an accumulator between the master cylinder and the modulator connected to an output port thereof, thereby letting the pressure in the control hydraulic chamber of the modulator close the control valve. CONSTITUTION:A modulator 2 consisting of an input hydraulic chamber 14, an output hydraulic chamber 18 connected to the input hydraulic chamber 14 via a closing valve 30 which is opened when a brake is applied, and a control hydraulic chamber 16 which is formed by a piston 13 connected interlockingly with the closing valve 30, is arranged between a master cylinder M and a wheel brake B. In this case, an kick pressure avoidance mechanism 51 which contains a control valve making a flow area small in response to an increase in pressure in a pilot hydraulic chamber communicated with the control hydraulic chamber 16, an accumulator and the like, is provided between the modulator 2 and the master cylinder M, thereby avoiding the direct application of hydraulic pressure in the input hydraulic chamber 14 onto the master cylinder M when the volume of the input hydraulic chamber 14 is decreased with an antilock operated.
