PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device for a hand pallet truck and a hand pallet truck capable of braking wheels in a normal condition.SOLUTION: A braking device 20A for a hand pallet truck, which is attached to a hand pallet truck comprising a body part and a pair of wheels 3, 3 disposed under the body part, to brake the wheels. The braking device comprises: a pair of brake shoes 23, 23 disposed facing a brake surface 22 formed on an inner peripheral surface of each of the wheels; and a support member 27 which is positioned inside each of the wheels and which supports the pair of brake shoes contactably and separatably with respect to the brake surface; a cam shaft 32, which is arranged between the pair of brake shoes and which expands the pair of brake shoes to press the pair against the brake surface by a rotation thereof; an input member 34A, which is connected to the cam shaft, and which rotates the cam shaft by a rotational operation; and urging means 65, 65 for rotatively urging the input member to a rotative direction of the cam shaft pressing the pair of brake shoes onto the brake surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
