Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable braking force control in an optimum range by detecting the change state of vibration applied to wheels in association with braking, and judging a present braking state to a braking range for generating maximum braking force to a vehicle by a braking force imparting means using the detected result.
CONSTITUTION: An ECU 26 computes the estimated body speed on the basis of the output signals of wheel speed sensors 22-2S and computes the slip factor of each wheel from the estimated body speed and wheel speed at the wheel braking time. The ECU 26 also sets an ABS control mode so as to suppress wheel lock at the wheel braking time and judges a braking state (braking load) on the basis of the rotational fluctuation components of the wheels, that is, computes wheel rotating acceleration and sets the load judgment value according to the contact face between the road surface and tires. In the case of the amplitude of acceleration becoming large and the wheel acceleration value exceeding the load judgment value, braking load is judged to be large, and the braking oil pressure of the wheel detected to be large in braking load is reduced.
