Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking method capable of preventing generation of a fluctuation in braking force, and a braking device capable of conducting arbitrary adjustment of the braking force according to circumstances.
SOLUTION: Four pivot pins 16 are fitted to the side plate 11 of a reel supporting a band-shaped article 13 in a rolled condition, and circular weight blocks 17 are supported respectively by the respective pins in an eccentric condition. Pin-shaped stoppers 19 fixed on the side plate 11 are disposed within arc slits 18 formed at the weight blocks 17. When the side plate 11 rotates together with drawing-out of the band-shaped article 13 in the direction of an arrowhead 1, the stoppers 19 inhibits the weight blocks 17 from moving freely within an angle of 180° to the left, thereby generating unbalanced load against the rotation of the reel. It is thus possible to prevent generation of such a frictional phenomenon as found in a friction brake.
