Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a polyimide resin which is good in moldability, such as extrudability, as well as in stretchability by introducing a particular third component into a polyimide resin in a particular proportion to form a branched structure.
CONSTITUTION: A polyimide resin comprising a repeating unit of the formula I wherein X represents a direct bond or a group selected from a C1 to C10 divalent hydrocarbon radical, hexafluoroisopropylidene, carbonyl, thio, sulfinyl, and sulfonyl groups and an oxide, Y1 to Y4 represent H or a group selected from lower alkyl and lower alkoxy groups, chlorine, and bromine, R represents a tetravalent group selected from C2 or higher aliph., cyclic aliph., monocyclic arom., and polycyclic arom. groups, and W represents a trivalent group having at least three carbon atoms, provided that three amino groups are bonded to respectively different carbon atoms and not bonded to carbon atoms adjacent to each other. W is pref. one of or a mixture of two or more of groups of the formula II.
