Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the life of a die and to obviate the breakage of a gate, overflow, etc., at the time of parting by specifying the contents of Cu, Si, Pb, Al and Zn in the brass material for die casting.

CONSTITUTION: The brass material for die casting for ornamental parts is constituted of a compsn. consisting of 58.0 to 62.O% Cu, 0.3 to 1.1% Si, 0.2 to 0.7% Pb, 0.2 to 0.6% Al, and the balance Zn and unavoidable impurities. The life of the die and die castability are improved by such compsn. Further, the ornamental parts having excellent quality are produced.
