To remarkably reduce the number of work processes and extend a tool life remarkably by fitting a cemented carbide tip formed in bottomed cylindrical shape closely into a small diameter part and brazing them to each other, forming a peripheral edge on the entire peripheral surface of the cemented carbide tip, and also forming a bottom edge on the entire bottom surface.
The tool main body 2 of a brazed end mill 1 forms a shank part 4 at one end and a small diameter part 5 which is smaller in diameter than the shank part 4 on the top end side of the other end, and eliminates a height difference between the shank part 4 and the small diameter part 5 by connecting them to each other smoothly through a radius 10. Also, a bottomed cylindrical cemented carbide tip 3 is fitted closely to the small diameter part 5 and brazed to each other, for example, 12 spiral grooves 6 and peripheral edges 7 are formed on its outer circumference, and a bottom edge comprising two bottom main edges 8 and 10 auxiliary bottom edges is formed at the bottom surface of the cemented carbide tip 3 continuously with the peripheral cutting edge 7. Then the edge surface of the bottom main edge 8 is connected continuously with the axis of the tool main body 2, bottom edge at the bottom is extended from the end part of the peripheral edge 7 to approximately a half of the bottom surface radius in the direction of the axis.
