Title:
BREAKWATER FOR ADSORBING RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2015166530
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakwater structure of a low cost which maintains breakwater resistance when tidal waves and the like occur and also adsorbs strontium 90 and the like in radiation-contaminated water.SOLUTION: There is provided a breakwater structure in which a breakwater has fracture resistance against tidal waves and the like occurring on a seawater surface 4 and which adsorbs strontium (Sr) 90 in radiation-contaminated water. The breakwater is formed by partially laminating large stones 2 and pebbles 3 such as "common hornblende" containing potassium and aqueous calcium having larger ionization tendency than Sr between a caisson 5 above a base riprap and upper concrete of the breakwater, so as to slightly penetrate seawater toward the sea at low tide and introduce seawater from another end into the breakwater at high tide. In the breakwater structure, the large number of pebbles 3 are wrapped with a stainless net (mesh) and the like, adsorbs strontium 90 and the like in the radiation-contaminated water and can be replaceable. Further, sunlight guides 8 breed algae which absorb radioactive substances, and an underwater beta ray is continuously monitored by using a radiation detector 9.
