Abstract:

PURPOSE: To breed the subject chicken capable of efficiently laying white york eggs in a short period by giving a feed containing a specified amount of xanthophyll from the latter period of the breeding.

CONSTITUTION: For example, a feed (blended so as to contain 12-25wt.% crude protein, 3-10wt.% crude fat, 2.5-4.5wt,% calcium and 2700-3300Kcal/Kg ME) containing ≤1mg/kg xanthophyll is continuously given also in the period after starting of laying eggs in succession from the latter period (130-140 age in day) of chicken breeding to breed chickens for laying eggs having white york of ≤1.0 Roche's color fan number.
