PURPOSE: To efficiently make a water-repellency treated filter operative by feeding a part of liquid to a brewing vessel before the feed of a material thereto for making the filter operative and, then, feeding the material and remaining liquid to the vessel, regarding an automatic vending machine for coffee or the like.

CONSTITUTION: Only a part of a hot water amount used for one-time brewing is supplied to a cylinder 1, once a start instruction is given, and stagnates on a water-repellency treated paper filter 3, thereby making the filter 3 operative. Then, when the lapse of the preset time is detected, the feed of a material and remaining hot water to the cylinder 1 begins, and brewed liquid on the filter 3 passes. As a result, the remnants of the liquid are left on the filter 3. Thus, the filter 3 is made to allow the easier passage of hot water, compared with other sections treated for water repellency, and constitution is so made that even when the water-repellency treated paper filter 3 is used, mixed liquid can be naturally brewed.
