To solve the problem of a conventional broad area displacement measuring device, which is configured by hanging a reference line under tension in the air as a fixed part, wherein the measurement accuracy is markedly reduced by the positional change in the reference line, which should be a fixed point, due to not only the slackness caused by own weight and rocking by wind pressure, but also the extension and contraction caused by the temperature change.
The broad area displacement measuring device is constituted of: a liquid channel with a displacement measurement section disposed between fixed points positioned in the middle; a liquid stored in the liquid channel; a floating beam structure which is immersed in the liquid and is stored along the liquid channel in a non-contact manner and the both ends of which are supported by the fixed points; and a non-contact displacement sensor for measuring the displacement between the displacement measurement section and the floating beam structure, the non-contact displacement sensor being disposed at the displacement measurement section and positioned corresponding to the middle part of the floating beam structure.
