To provide a broadcast signal receiver capable of sufficiently attenuating interference signals which are signals other than desired wave signals in the preceding stage of a frequency conversion circuit.
The broadcast signal receiver includes: a frequency variable RF filter circuit 102; a frequency conversion circuit 105 for frequency-converting output signals of the RF filter circuit 102; an IF filter circuit 106 wherein a passing band width is smaller than that of the RF filter circuit 102 and a frequency is fixed; a detection circuit 108 for detecting the output signals of the RF filter circuit 102; a detection circuit 109 for detecting the output signals of the IF filter circuit 106; and a controller 110 for changing the passing frequency of the RF filter circuit 102 within such a range that a detected output level from the detection circuit 109 is a prescribed level or higher, and fixing the passing frequency of the RF filter circuit 102 at the frequency at the time when the detected output level from the detection circuit 108 becomes the lowest.
